Summary VS Analysis Featuring PaperBagBoy

1 comment:

  1. You gave very good definitions, complete and to the point. PaperBagBoy said, “Don't bore your audience, like my voice” - too funny! Great job! I hope you showed it to your kids. If so, they were probably laughing their heads off. (My kids did with mine.) You made really good points about quoting and plagiarism, and making sure you cite your quotes – ones that I forgot to include in my own video (I used the same website, but used the stick figures – paper bag guy was my favorite out of the robots though.)

The re-cap you gave, under “things to remember when summarizing” was a good way to expand upon your original definition, making it more complete, and to be sure the viewer understands the points your making. The only things I would change (just because it's a college level class) is reducing slang (examples: stuff, oh ya, etc.). Your statement, “An analysis is kind of like the meat grinder of literature. This is where you pick apart the piece you are working on and make piles.” was a little too graphic for me, but a good analogy. You may want to be careful about making comments like, “but how easy is it to understand”. You don't to sound belittling or insulting towards your listeners (English is really hard for some people). Your definition on analysis that followed was very good, including your statement, “I look at it from all angles and allow myself to see it in a different perspective”. I especially liked the end credits and cheering.

You made this assignment interesting, informative, and entertaining. Two thumbs up!

    Thanks,
